quartic2d.HarmonicTransform.set_method#

HarmonicTransform.set_method(method, *, subdivisions=None, N=None, h=None)#

Select the radial quadrature and recompute all retained harmonics.

Parameters:
  • method ({'trapezoid', 'simpson', 'gl4', 'gl8', 'ogata'}) – Radial Hankel-transform method.

  • subdivisions (int or None, optional) – Finite-grid refinement used by trapezoid, simpson, gl4, and gl8.

  • N (int or None, optional) – Ogata node count. Used only by method='ogata'.

  • h (float or None, optional) – Positive Ogata resolution parameter. Used only by method='ogata'.

Returns:

This instance after recomputing all F_m(q) values.

Return type:

HarmonicTransform

Raises:
  • ValueError – If method is unsupported or a supplied numerical parameter is invalid.

  • ImportError – If method='ogata' and the optional hankel dependency is unavailable.

Notes

Method-specific parameters that are not supplied retain their current values. Changing the method clears any attached q-sampling and radial- quadrature convergence records because those records refer to the previous numerical representation.
